Grease is a 1971 musical by Jim Jacobs and WarRen Casey. The musical is named for the 1950s United States working-class youth subculture known as the greasers. The musical, set in 1959 at fictional Rydell High School  loosely based on William Howard Taft School , follows ten working-class teenagers as they navigate the complexities of love, cars, and drive-ins.In celebration of this day, we bring you  Grease  and  We Go Together  as performed at the 2008 Tony Awards. Jackie Hoffman  The Addams Family , pop culture columnist Michael Musto, and Tonya Pinkins  Caroline, or Change  have been tapped to judge the event which will take place on Monday evening, March 19th, at 8p.m. at Symphony Space  2537 Broadway at 95th St. . The popular event is the annual benefit of New York s Ali Forney Center.Participants include Andrew Chappelle  Mamma Mia! , Wilkie Ferguson III  Por adidas originals samba gy and Bess , Corey Mach  Godspell , Jesse Swimm  Mary Poppins , and Anthony Wayne  P adidas campus riscilla Queen of the Desert . Brent Barrett  Chicago  and past Pageant winners Frankie James Grande  Mamma Mia! , Michael Cusumano  Chicago  and Anthony Hollock  Hair  are set to perform.
