Washington: A total of 65,960 Indians officially became US citizens, making India the second-largest source country for new citizens in America after Mexico, according to the latest Congressional report.   An estimated 46 million foreign-born persons resided in the United States in 2022, approximately 14 per cent of the total US population of 333 million, according to American Community Survey data from the US Census Bureau. Also ReadOver 59,000 Indians acquired US citizenship in 2023 Of these, 24.5 million, about 53 per cent, reported their status as naturalised citizens.     In its latest  US Naturalisation Policy  report of April 15, the independent Congressional Research Service in the fiscal year 2022, a t stanley cup becher otal of 969,380 individuals became naturalised US citizens.  Individuals born in Mexico represented the largest number of naturalisations, followed by persons from India, Philippines, Cuba, and the Dominican Republi bidon stanley c,  it said. Bengaluru: An Abu Dhabi-bound Etihad Airways flight returned to the Bangalore International Airport shortly after take-off due to a technical issue, the airline said on Monday.   The airline said that the aircraft did a normal landing at Bangalore airport. The flight inspection was done and later took off to its destination where it landed this morning.      Etihad Airways flight EY237 from Bangalo stanley website re International Airport to Ab stanley termos u Dhabi on April 2, returned to Bangalore Airport shortly after take-off due to a technical issue. The aircraft performed a normal landing in Bangalore. The required stanley cup  technical inspections were completed, and the flight continued to Abu Dhabi, where it landed early this morning,  Etihad Airways said. Also ReadAir India Express launches Goa-Dubai direct flights Earlier on April 1, a full emergency was declared at the Indira Gandhi International Airport in Delhi after a Dubai-bound FedEx aircraft suffered a bird hit soon after take-off, according to airport officials. Airport officials stated that the FedEx aircraft was hit minutes after it took off.
